VietNamNet Bridge - Da Nang City has elected a new Vice Party Secretary while Can Tho City and Kien Giang Province have new Vice Chairs.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, was elected as Vice Party Secretary of Da Nang in the 2010-2015 term in a meeting on April 2, with 93 percent voting aye.

Xuan Anh, 38, a native of Da Nang, holds a  Ph.D. degree in business administration. He previously served as the Deputy Permanent Chair of Lien Chieu District, Da Nang City; Deputy Party Secretary of Lien Chieu District; Deputy Director of the Centre for Investment Promotion of Da Nang; and Da Nang People's Committee Vice Chair.

Yesterday, 49 deputies participating in the meeting of the Mekong Delta City of Can Tho People’s Councils unanimously approved the appointment of Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam as the city’s Vice Chair for the 2011-2016 term.

The new Vice Chair is 47 years old and a native of the central province of Quang Tri. He holds a Bachelor of Law and English language.

Nam is the former head of the Market Management Agency of the Ministry of Trade and Industry.

Last week, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi, former Deputy Minister of Construction, was elected Vice Chair of the southern province of Kien Giang for the 2011-2016 term, with 98.39 percent voting aye.

Nghi, 38, a native from Ca Mau province, is an alternative member of the Party Central Committee. He is a doctor of construction engineering.

In latest news, the PM has just appointed Mr. Tran Ngoc Liem as Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Province People’s Committee in the 2011-2016 tenure.

Earlier, Liem was Director of the Post-inspection Monitoring, Evaluation and Processing Department, under the Government Inspectorate of Vietnam.
