The Central Highlands city of Da Lat launched free wifi service on December 25 with the installation of 24 wireless base broadcasting stations in its downtown areas.

The move aims to help meet Internet access needs of local residents and tourists, especially during the 2013 Da Lat Culture and Tourism Week from December 27-31.

The service coverage will be expanded in the time to come, said Director of the Lam Dong provincial Department of Information and Communication Nguyen Viet Van.

Besides the flower city, Vietnam’s major tourism hubs, namely Hoi An, Da Nang, Ha Long and Hue have also offered wifi service coverage.
