More than 20 million cyberattack alerts were uncovered in the first quarter of 2024, up 33% year-on-year, Spokesman of the Ministry of Public Security Lieutenant General To An Xo said at the Government’s regular press conference on April 3.

VNDirect, the first online trading broker in Vietnam, said on March 25 that it has resolved a cyberattack by an international organisation on its system and has been making efforts to restore the entire system to limit disruptions in transactions.

As many as 1,812 cyber attacks were detected in Vietnam so far this year, a drop of 38% compared to the same period last year, according to the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC).
