This is part of the Government’s Directive No. 01/CT-TTg, dated February 8, 2022 on key tasks after the Lunar New Year Festival.

Earlier, the Government chief called for tourism market resumption as soon as possible from late March but no later than April 30.

In response to the call, the ministry proposed a deadline of March 31 for Vietnam to completely re-open the tourism market for both domestic and international tourists.

Under the current tourism roadmap approved by the Government, the Southeast Asian country will continue the second pilot phase through March 30 for receiving international tourists.

During the trial period, foreign tourists are allowed to visit seven localities namely Phu Quoc (Kien Giang), Khanh Hoa, Quang Nam, Da Nang, Quang Ninh, HCMC, and Binh Dinh.

COVID-19 testing can be conducted at the accommodation sites, with no discrimination between domestic and international tourists.

The tourists accepted into Vietnam must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (with certificates) at least 14 days before entry, or have proof of recovery from COVID-19 within six months prior to entry. (There will be separate requirements for partially vaccinated or young children).

So far, Vietnam has welcomed nearly 9,000 foreign tourists since the introduction of this pilot policy.
