Artists from the Vietnam Contemporary Arts Theatre, under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, perform at a ceremony held in January to mark the launch of the country’s year as ASEAN Chair.
Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City host ASEAN Film Week 2020 between July 18 and July 26 as a means of helping to introduce movies from various ASEAN member states, whilst also boosting cultural exchanges and mutual understanding among Southeast Asian countries.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism co-ordinates efforts with embassies of ASEAN member states to host an exhibition showcasing traditional costumes with the aim of commemorating the fifth founding anniversary of the ASEAN Community. The third version of the ASEAN Graphic Arts Exhibition takes place in Hanoi in late November, featuring a total of 117 pieces produced by artists from various ASEAN member states. The event, which is held every four years, serves to boost understanding and solidarity among Southeast Asian countries. In addition, it presents an opportunity for painters in the region to meet and share their various artworks, while also introducing their countries, people, and cultures to others.
A delegation of the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism participates in a virtual conference of the 16th Meeting of ASEAN Senior Officials Meeting Responsible for Culture and Arts. The Vietnamese delegates at the event provide initiatives on the ASEAN Culture Heritage Digital Archive and receive plenty of support from regional countries.
