Module 7, established in 2002, is well- known as an interior design company in Hanoi that has been maintaining traditional standards beauty amid rapid economic development.

More than 10 years on, the company is on its way to creating an open studio where artists can co-operate in a creative atmosphere.

Minh Chau, a member of the organizing board, said, “Module 7 is not just an interior design company. It’s also a place where people can come, enjoy an atmosphere of art, and nurture their creative passion."

"Art colors our lives in a marvelous way, and Module 7 wants to be a place that inspires art lovers’ mind, and develops their imagination, independence, and confidence,” he added.

At Module 7 creative classes are held every Sunday. With the support of 2 or 3 artists, art lovers can feel free to experience new materials, develop and show their creative skills, express themselves, and stimulate their imaginations.

The most exciting classes are the ones where parents learn new art techniques while watching their children play at making their own works of art.

Minh Chau said, “The creative learning classes here are flexible and suitable for adults and children alike. For example, at Module 7, adults have an opportunity to learn advanced techniques like glass painting, silk painting, wire jewelry making, and so on, while children can take up a new hobby of painting or making their own toys out of traditional materials. This is a new model, a new lifestyle.”

The classes open up a world of creativity in a comfortable and energizing atmosphere. The creative class for adults, hosted by sculptress Lap Phuong, introduces participants to many impressive materials and diverse techniques.

Phuong said, “The content of the classes here are diverse. We want art lovers to seek inspiration from different creative materials, ranging from wood, ceramic, glass, stone, and paper to recycled objects. Working with those different materials in many ways gives you the confidence to come up with new ideas and encourages your creative expression."

"The most important thing is you do not need any previous drawing experience. The content of each class is new, so you can join the classes any time you want," Phuong noted.

After 10 classes, adults will be able to create a wide range of decorative items from what they’ve learned, painting on different materials like silk, and glass, and making accessories.

The class for children by Pham Ngoc Duong and Tran Tan opens a whole new world for children.

It’s easy to see that the kids are madly in love with the atmosphere of exploration and discovery in the classes, where everyone has fun, makes friends, and learns along the way.

Teacher and artist Pham Ngoc Duong said, “In my class, children from 4 to 10 years old learn how to make small statues, toys, and decorative items in order to increase their creativity. Nowadays, children grow up surrounded by iphones, ipads, and computers."

"Parents don’t have the time to sit down with their kids and help them explore art on their own. In my opinion, the children have a wonderful instinct for creative expression. The classes here focus on introducing children to new materials and techniques, and then stand back and let them explore art in their own way,” he said.

In 10 classes, the kids are encouraged to explore specific themes: for example, make colorful and dynamic prototypes of Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Neptune, etc, and complete a model of the whole universe of their own design.

The classes encourage children to develop their own ideas and give them the confidence to express what they’re thinking.

Nguyen Thi An, whose daughter was attracted to the class when she saw her friends were making lovely creative works of art, said, “She is very happy when she comes home from the classes. She wants to attend art class every day. The classes here have nurtured her talent in art and her ability to think creatively and innovatively."

"The teachers have provided me with ideas and instructions for more art activities to do with my daughter at home. As a mother, I am very happy about that. I have noticed that she has also improved her social skills,” she added.

Sunday is now An’s family’s favorite day of the week because it’s the day they go to Module 7. Module 7 is not just a creative space. It is a place where you can experience moments you and your family will treasure.
