Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore Chee Wee Kiong has affirmed his nation’s readiness to assist Vietnam in vaccines via COVAX Facility.

This is the 9th Covid-19 vaccine approved by the Ministry of Health, after AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Sputnik V, Janssen, Moderna, Sinopharm, Hayat - Vax and Abdala.

A batch of more than 1.2 million doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine donated by the US and channeled through the COVAX Facility arrived in Ho Chi Minh City on November 7.

Japanese Foreign Minister Motegi Toshimitsu has announced the donation of an additional 500,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses to Vietnam, according to a statement issued recently by the Japanese Embassy in Hanoi.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son, head of the Government's Working Group on vaccine diplomacy, said Vietnam needs to develop a master plan for COVID-19 vaccines in 2022 based on the country’s demand. 

The COVAX Facility has delivered an additional 1,999,530 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine donated by the US to Vietnam.

The Ministry of Health is working on a plan to give vaccination against Covid-19 for children aged 12-17, said Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary Nguyen Thi Bich Thao received the token of 60,000 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine presented by the Croatian Government at a ceremony held in Budapest, Hungary on October 12.

Up to 35 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine will be allocated to provinces throughout the country from now until the end of October. The Ministry of Health has asked local authorities to speed up vaccinations.
