VietNamNet Bridge – Musicians of HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO) will debut their new works by choreographers Phuc Hai and Phuc Hung in a contemporary dance concert at 8 p.m. on Friday at HCMC Opera House.
A contemporary dance of HBSO’s dancers at HCMC Opera House
Audiences will be entertained with Nuoc (Water) by dancers Phuc Hai, Phuc Hung and Duc Nhuan under the music of Viet Anh and Duy Linh and Duet – Tram (Duet - Deep) by dancers Thu Diep and Thu Trang under the music of Le trio Joubran.
There will be the Solo and Duet extracts from the worldwide contemporary ballet Dream Puzzles which is inspired from the saying of Cherry Hartman, ‘When your dreams are shattered, sweep up the pieces and keep them. Little points of hope can be found in the ruins of dreams’.
The pieces will be played by dancers Kim Cuc for the Solo and couple Phi Diep-Thu Trang for the Duet with the music of Max Richter.
Other works include Ngay hom qua (Yesterday) by choreographer Phuc Hai with music from Paul McCartney, Chuyen (Move) by choreographer Phuc Hung with music of Amon Tobin. The two pieces will display the talents of HBSO’s dance troupe.
Pieces are inspired from artists’ perceptions and meditation over changes of life from morality, tradition, economy or lifestyle. Moves of dancers will present inner battles as well as the spiritual world of people today who are sometimes too busy racing forward without drawing on lessons from the past.
Via moves, sometimes bold and sometimes gentle, the concert also aims to send a message that people still have desires and dreams to reach the beauty, the truth and the good even though life can be tough sometimes.
Tickets are priced from VND200,000-VND350,000 and VND80,000 for students. Tickets are available at the Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square in District 1. For ticket delivery, call 08 3823 7419 or email [email protected].
