VietNamNet Bridge – Composers under 35 years old from Southeast Asian countries have been invited to compete in a regional music competition and festival in December in Thailand.

The contest has been organised by the Goethe Institute and the College of Music at the manifold University in Salaya City, Thailand.

Composers from Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines and Vietnam are invited to send their works by July 31.

An international jury will select 10 outstanding pieces. These will be put forward for discussion at a workshop at the university from December 9 to 15.

The best three will receive 3,000 US each.

A Berlin-based group for contemporary music, Ensemble Mosaik, will also perform at the festival.
