The squad includes three goalkeepers, 10 defenders, six midfielders, and five strikers, featuring many popular names who put in outstanding performances during the qualification stage.
Captain Nguyen Cong Phuong; goalkeepers Pham Dinh Hai and Nguyen Bao Ngoc; along with strikers Hoang Cong Hau, Nguyen Le Phat, and Phung Quang Tu all made the team.
They also put in strong performances during their recent training camp in Qatar and Japan. Vietnam topped Group F in the qualification stage after winning all three matches to ultimately earn a place in the finals of the competition.
The 2023 U17 Asian Cup finals are set to be held in Thailand from June 15 to July 2. Vietnam are in Group D and are due to play India, Japan, and Uzbekistan on June 17, June 20, and June 23, respectively.
The quarter-final round will take place from June 25 to June 26, whilst the semi-finals and finals will get underway on June 29 and July 2, respectively.
The top four teams of the 2023 U17 Asian Cup that progress through to the semi-final round will qualify for the 2023 FIFA U17 World Cup which is due to take place in Peru in October.
