On the afternoon of October 11, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha met with the leadership of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC) and China Railway 16th Bureau Group Co., Ltd. (CRCC16).
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed hope that CRCC, one of China’s and the world’s leading construction conglomerates, could share its experience and transfer its knowledge on state-owned enterprise development, operational models, and advancements in science and technology.
CRCC could collaborate with Vietnamese partners and companies to implement smart transportation infrastructure projects between Vietnam and China, serving as a model for cooperation and technology transfer.
Collaborative projects between CRCC and Vietnamese partners, when completed, will demonstrate the reliability and quality of a trusted brand, as the saying goes, “seeing is believing.” These projects will serve as a foundation for future cooperation and investment by CRCC in Vietnam, using China’s top standards, regulations, design thinking, and operational models.
CRCC Chairman Dai He Gen expressed a strong desire to closely cooperate with the Vietnam Railways Corporation and Truong Son Construction Corporation to implement infrastructure projects in Vietnam.
CRCC is currently ranked 42nd on the Fortune Global 500 list, operating in over 140 countries and territories. The company has designed and built more than 50% of China’s high-speed rail and regular rail networks, over 40% of its urban railway systems, and 30% of its highways.
In Vietnam, CRCC has been involved in projects such as the modernization and renovation of Vietnam’s railway signaling system, the supply of railway materials, and the planning of the Lao Cai-Hanoi-Hai Phong railway route, through its Design Institute 5.
Mr. Dai He Gen emphasized CRCC’s willingness to expand cooperation beyond railways, roads, and subways, expressing interest in seaport and airport construction, green energy development, and the use of new, environmentally friendly technologies and materials.
Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha noted that CRCC’s investment and cooperation projects in Vietnam are of great significance in implementing the guidance of senior leaders of both Parties and States. The two sides are working together to promote tangible benefits, fostering bilateral and multilateral trade and economic connections.
Regarding CRCC’s proposals, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha expressed confidence that the cooperation projects between CRCC and its Vietnamese partners would mark a new milestone in bilateral cooperation, and that they would be smoothly implemented with the support of senior leaders from both countries.
The Deputy Prime Minister also expressed hope that CRCC’s projects in Vietnam would exceed progress expectations and maintain high quality. He emphasized the need for a systematic and scientific approach to project design to avoid potential delays or mistakes.
