The Vietnamese Embassy in China has said that 13 Vietnamese fishermen seized by China have been freed and are on the way back home.
The information was revealed on July 15 by Assistant to chief of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ General Consulate Department Luong Thanh Quang while answering local and international reporters’ questions related to the incident of two Vietnamese fishing boats under arrest by China.
The released fishermen consist of seven crew members of QB 93256 TS boat from Quang Binh and six of QNg 94912 TS boat from Quang Ngai, Quang said.
The Chinese side confiscated QNg 94912 TS boat and all fishing tools of the two vessels and Vietnamese representative agencies in China would continue to work with the Chinese side to resolve the case satisfactorily, he added.
