Canoeist Nguyen Thi Huong will be the last Vietnamese athlete to compete at the Paris Olympics. Although she is not a medal favourite, she wants to set a new personal best.
Vietnamese rowers on June 28 won two gold, six silver and four bronze medals at the 2024 Southeast Asia Rowing and Canoeing, U19 and U23 Championships being held in the northern city of Hai Phong.
A press conference to announce preparations for the 2024 Southeast Asia Rowing and Canoeing, U19 and U23 Championships was held in the northern port city of Hai Phong on June 25.
Nguyen Thi Huong has made a historic milestone that previous coaches and retired and senior teammates could not do over many decades.
Canoeing and rowing have secured the eighth and ninth spots for Vietnam at the Paris 2024 Olympics, according to the General Department of Sports and Physical Training under Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
Vietnamese canoeist Diep Thi Huong on April 19 brought home a gold medal at the 2024 Asian Canoe Sprint Championships which is currently taking place in Japan.
Viet Nam will take part in the upcoming World Gymnastics Championships in Antwerp, Belgium from September 30-October 6.
