VietNamNet Bridge - The better business performance in 2015 has prompted businesses to give more handsome bonuses to their workers this Tet.

 

Reports from local labor departments all show that employees can expect bigger Tet bonuses this year. 

The Hanoi labor department reported that local businesses plan to offer bonuses 1.5 percent higher than last year.

The reports from 1,576 businesses in HCM City showed that the average Tet bonus this year is 5-10 percent higher. Each worker can expect to receive one-month salary for Tet bonus.

HCM City now holds the record in awarding employees on the occasion of the New Year 2016. A worker of a foreign invested enterprise in the city received VND2 billion,a figure which was never seen before.

Reports from local labor departments all show that employees can expect bigger Tet bonuses this year.

Workers in other large cities such as Hue, Hai Phong and Hai Duong also received satisfactory awards when the new year began.

A foreign invested enterprise in Hai Duong City offered the bonus of VND624 million to one of its workers. Meanwhile, the highest Tet bonus one individual in Da Nang City could receive was VND200 million. The figures were VND150 million in Thua Thien-Hue province, VND150 million in Kien Giang province and VND100 million in Hanoi.

The bonuses for 2016 Tet can be classified into some groups. State-owned single-member companies limited can expect the average bonus of VND3.35 million, or 1.5 percent higher than the last year.

Workers in joint stock companies where the State contributes capital can expect bonus of VND3.5 million, up by 1.4 percent. Meanwhile, workers in foreign invested enterprises can get VND3.7 million on average.

JobStreet.com has released a market report showing that workers in the fields of mining, petroleum and gas can expect the highest bonuses. 14 percent of them expect  bonuses equal to 4-month salaries.

Real estate developers are the most generous bosses as the real estate market has warmed up in the last year, which has helped boost sales two or threefold. 

Some real estate firms said the highest bonus level may be VND500 million, the highest level in eight years, equal to 5-10 month salary.

The Chair of a real estate firm headquartered in district 10, HCM City, said the highest Tet bonus a worker received last year was equal to a 9-month salary, while he plans a 20 percent increase this year.

The boss made the statement after it sold 2,500 products in 2015, or 2.5 times higher than the sales in 2014.

The owner of a real estate firm in HCM City said three cars, each of which is worth VND800 million, would be awarded to the three best employees at the company’s review conference. Meanwhile, another 15 excellent individuals would receive awards worth VND100-200 million each.
