The accident, which happened around midnight on March 8 in Cam Ranh City, involved a head-on collision between two buses.

Nine people died on the scene and two more died en route to the hospital, leaving nearly 50 others injured.

The Khanh Hoa Provincial Police Department responded by sending teams to help with rescue efforts and manage traffic around the scene of the accident.

Cam Ranh City authorities have stated that they will provide VND2 million (USD96) in financial support to the families of each of the deceased, and VND1 million each to those who were severely injured. For those who suffered less serious injuries, they will give VND500,000.
