On December 6, around 5:00 PM, the Emergency Department of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi admitted four male students aged 13-14 with serious injuries. The boys - identified as P.L.N., N.G.H., N.G.B., and P.V.T. - suffered extensive burns covering 10-20% of their bodies, including severe swelling on their faces, arms, hands, and legs.

Doctors immediately performed emergency surgeries to clean and stitch wounds. As of now, the boys are in stable condition.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the boys were following YouTube tutorials to create homemade fireworks when an explosion occurred, resulting in their injuries.

Doctors warn that making fireworks is highly dangerous and poses significant risks, including severe burns, physical trauma, and even life-threatening injuries.

Firework-related injuries often affect the face, neck, hands, and legs. In some cases, they can lead to respiratory burns, which complicate treatment and prolong recovery. Deep burns, if not properly cared for, can result in permanent scars, contractures, and mobility issues. These injuries not only affect physical appearance but also impair long-term bodily functions.

Medical experts urge families and schools to monitor children closely and educate them about the dangers of creating fireworks. Preventative measures and heightened awareness can help avoid such tragic accidents in the future.
