VietNamNet Bridge – Nearly 180 new book titles of Vietnamese and international authors will be released in March as part of Thang 3 Sach Tre (March Youth Book Programme).
The programme is organised by the Tre (Youth) Publishing House and more than 50 publishers and bookstores in Viet Nam.
The highlights are the recently published novel Bay Buoc Toi Mua He (Seven Steps to Summer) by best-selling writer Nguyen Nhat Anh titled, and Dong Tam Long (Counting Love) by Ca Mau-based author Nguyen Ngoc Tu, who writes about Cuu Long (Mekong) Delta's people and life.
Viet Nam's veteran diplomat Ton Nu Thi Ninh presents her autobiography titled Tu Duy va Chia Se (Thoughts and Sharing) consisting of 46 articles and interviews on her activities in different fields such as politics and education.
Talks with three writers will also be organised in HCM City and Can Tho City.
New titles of children books include a set of eight books based on Vietnamese fairy tales by writer Nguyen Huong, and Chuyen Ke Cho Be (Stories for Children).
Apart from works by local writers, the latest novels by international authors like J. K. Rowling and Colleen McCullough will be featured.
Nguyen Minh Nhut, director of the publishing house, said the Tre Publishing House worked hard last year to release hundreds of new books, and 250 reprinted editions of famous local and foreign writers to audiences.
As part of the programme, the publishing house will also offer a 10 per cent discount on all its published titles at bookstores nationwide.
