Inside the Cultural Park of Ca Mau city lies a breath-taking bird garden, drawing thousands of visitors to the country’s southernmost province. However, increasing pollution has threatened the survival of the local environment.
The Ca Mau bird garden spans across 31,500 square metres. According to research of Institute from the Natural Resources and Environment and Japanese royal ornithology institute, there are more than 6,603 birds of 53 species in the area.
Endowed with abundant resources and a variety of bird species, Ca Mau bird garden has proposed numerous ways to preserve bird species.
However, in recent years the garden has faced a sharp decline in the number of birds.
This is due to low water levels and the huge concentration of bird fecal matter, causing serious pollution.-VNA
