On August 18th, Binh Dinh province held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Artificial Intelligence Center and its supporting urban area. This project, with an investment of over VND 4,300 billion ($170 million), is set to become a hub for 20,000 tech professionals to work, research, and study.
The project spans an area of 94 hectares across Tran Quang Dieu and Bui Thi Xuan wards in Quy Nhon City. The investment and development of the project are being carried out by the FPT Quy Nhon consortium.
The project comprises three main functional subdivisions: the Artificial Intelligence Center, the Education and Training Zone, and the Supporting Urban Area.
The Artificial Intelligence Center will focus on research, training, software development, digital transformation support, cybersecurity solutions, social security, and AI applications aimed at enhancing human productivity, quality, and service value.
The Education and Training Zone will include the construction of an integrated school system covering all levels from elementary to high school.
The Supporting Urban Area will provide essential amenities tailored to the needs of a high-tech urban environment, aiming to attract high-quality human resources to Binh Dinh, particularly in the fields of advanced technology, new technology, and artificial intelligence.
Pham Anh Tuan, Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People’s Committee, emphasized that the project's commencement marks not only a significant milestone in the province's socio-economic development but also a testament to the province's determination to embrace and apply scientific and technological advancements in practical life, in line with the Politburo's Resolution No. 52.
According to Chairman Tuan, the Binh Dinh Provincial Party Committee has issued a separate action program focused on the development of science and technology in the province. The program aims to make science, technology, and innovation the driving force for socio-economic development and sustainability, transforming Binh Dinh into a destination for tech companies and scientists, both domestic and international.
Tuan highlighted that the Artificial Intelligence Center and its supporting urban area will play a pivotal role in the province’s tech ecosystem. It will focus on promoting research, training high-quality human resources, and applying AI to critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and agriculture.
The supporting urban area will not only enhance infrastructure and living conditions but also create a modern, cohesive, and environmentally friendly workspace. It will serve as a hub for innovation, startups, and the development of a robust tech community.
“The project is one of the key drivers in promoting the development of a smart, modern, and sustainable urban area, helping Binh Dinh achieve its goals and become an attractive destination for technology investors both domestically and internationally,” Chairman Tuan emphasized.
