At a recent press conference, the Binh Dinh Department of Tourism announced its tourism promotion program for the fourth quarter of 2024.
A total of 21 accommodation establishments participating in the program will offer room discounts of 20-50% off the listed price, while 11 domestic and international travel service companies will reduce tour prices by at least 30% after discounting the included services.
Additionally, three transportation companies will offer at least a 20% discount, six dining establishments will provide discounts ranging from 5-100% depending on the size of the group and the number of meals, and two tourist sites will reduce entrance fees by 20-51%. The discounts will be valid from October 1 to December 31, 2024, for groups of five or more people.
For groups attending conferences or workshops in Binh Dinh with at least 100 participants, the program will also cover 50% of the cost of renting conference halls and meeting rooms at the Provincial Conference Center, as well as 50% of the cost for organizing traditional art performances.
In his opening remarks, Tran Van Thanh, Director of the Binh Dinh Provincial Department of Tourism, emphasized the province's determination to make tourism a key economic sector. Binh Dinh aims to become a leading tourist destination for both domestic and international visitors.
In 2024, the province implemented several initiatives to promote tourism, including successfully hosting the "Amazing Binh Dinh Fest 2024," which featured the International Professional Boat Racing Championship and the World Teqball Championship 2024, showcasing new tourism-sport products for both Binh Dinh and Vietnam.
Thanks to these efforts, Binh Dinh's tourism sector welcomed more than 8 million visitors in the first nine months of 2024, an 87.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023, and 147% of the target for the year. Revenue reached over 22.7 trillion VND, a 56.9% increase compared to 2023.
“Binh Dinh, once an unknown stopover, has now become a highly regarded destination, praised by both domestic and international tourists and media,” Thanh said.
To maintain visitor numbers, Thanh stated that the Department of Tourism is working with the Binh Dinh Tourism Association to launch the tourism promotion program, attracting more groups to the province.
Additionally, Binh Dinh is refreshing its current tourism offerings and developing new products for visitors. These include cultural, art, and sports activities at key locations such as Nguyen Tat Thanh Square and other sites in Quy Nhon City, as well as spiritual tourism tours at Thi Nai Lagoon.
Thanh stressed that the tourism promotion and price reduction programs are meaningful efforts aimed at attracting more visitors in the fourth quarter, with high expectations for positive results. He urged participating businesses to seriously implement the service discount packages, ensuring quality standards, and to introduce attractive new products. This would help create a complete service supply chain that leaves visitors satisfied when visiting Quy Nhon and Binh Dinh.
At the event, the Binh Dinh Department of Tourism also provided details on two tours at Thi Nai Lagoon and the major cultural, sports, and tourism events planned for 2025, as well as new tourist attractions.
In 2025, the province will host 28 events, including a New Year's Countdown program, the UIM-APB Watercraft Racing Championship, the 50th anniversary celebration of Binh Dinh’s liberation with fireworks and art performances, the UIM-APB F1H2O Boat Racing Championship, the second Binh Dinh Culinary Festival, the International Paragliding Competition, an international music festival, the National Pickleball Tournament, and the International Golf Championship 2025.
