Bamboo Airways operates normally and there is no point in petitioning for bankruptcy, Tue told local media outlets on July 14.

Tue made the confirmation following a Bamboo Airways report to the Prime Minister surfacing social media on July 14 afternoon saying new ­investors no longer have resources to further support the restructuring of the airline, and the firm was planning to file for bankruptcy in accordance with the law.

Tue admitted that the report caused misunderstanding in general as it has previously signed by a deputy head of the firm to highlight difficulties faced by Bamboo Airways and make support proposals.

“In fact, not only Bamboo Airways but also large businesses encountering difficulties in operations have also submitted a similar report to the Government for consideration and support,” he told Tuoi Tre newspaper.

Tue went on to say though Bamboo Airways has been facing difficulties, the firm is still making efforts to restructure itself and at the same time call for investment from its partners. Bamboo Airways is also negotiating with aircraft manufacturers to extend their due payments, because the firm is performing well.

Meanwhile, Dinh Viet Thang, head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV), told VTC News that the agency had not known this information, when being asked about news that some Vietnamese airlines are on the brink of bankruptcy due to difficulties in operation.

“We have no official information on this matter. However, we still monitor the financial health and safety of airlines in compliance with the law," he said.

He affirmed that the CAAV is strictly controlling flight safety so that difficulties of airlines should not affect flight safety in principle.
