The couple, Nguyen Van Phuong (born 1999) from Bac Ninh province and Diem Thi Linh (born 2001) from Bac Giang province, decided to proceed with their wedding as planned despite the severe flooding caused by recent storms.

The wedding photos and videos, captured by photographer Pham Chi Ba, show the groom holding his wedding bouquet, while the groomsmen, carrying the ceremonial trays, and other guests waded through knee-deep water to the bride’s home. The wedding party even used a small boat to transport the wedding trays across the flooded roads.

"The path to the bride’s house was quite a distance, and we had to wade through water for a significant portion of it," shared Phuong. "Even though it was challenging, everyone was happy and excited to be part of this special day."

Social media users left a flurry of comments on the photos, admiring the couple’s determination: "This is a wedding story they’ll tell their grandson for sure," and "True love knows no obstacles, not even floodwaters!"

Despite the flooding, the groom remains upbeat. "It was tough getting married on a flooded day, but I'm grateful that everything went smoothly, and I'm surrounded by supportive friends and family," Phuong said.

On the morning of September 10th, Phuong and a party of 15 family members from his hometown in Yen Phong, Bac Ninh, made their way to Bac Giang to bring the bride home.

The groom and his party had to wade through more than ten meters of water to reach the bride's house, where Phuong carried his bride through the floodwaters.

The bride, wearing a traditional ao dai, was ferried through the water and only changed into her wedding gown once they arrived at the groom's home.

Photographer Pham Chi Ba, who documented the wedding, said, "In my three years as a photographer, this is the first time I've captured a wedding in such conditions. I felt for the couple, but I was determined to give them the most beautiful and memorable photos."

Despite the challenges, the couple, their families, and the guests celebrated with joy, turning the wedding into a remarkable and unforgettable event.
