
The government has directed the Hanoi People’s Committee to take the lead in organizing celebrations, including a grand military parade and march, to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
According to Official Dispatch No. 2620 regarding the preparations for the 80th anniversary celebrations of the August Revolution and National Day, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh has tasked the Hanoi People’s Committee with developing a comprehensive plan for the commemorative events and organizing the main celebration ceremony.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the need to meticulously prepare the anniversary ceremony, military parade, and other associated activities. He also requested the compilation of guest lists, including current and former Party and State leaders, distinguished delegates, and other invited guests from across the country.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has been assigned to coordinate and create the overall event script for the commemoration, parade, and march, as well as to prepare a special artistic performance program.
The Ministry of National Defense will be responsible for developing and leading the proposal for the military parade and march to be held at Ba Dinh Square.
To ensure security and safety, the Ministry of Public Security has been instructed to devise detailed security plans for the attendance of Party and State leaders, guests, and the public, as well as for all associated events.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will coordinate with relevant agencies to arrange for the diplomatic corps and representatives of international organizations based in Hanoi to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and pay tribute to fallen heroes at the Bac Son Martyrs’ Memorial. They are also tasked with planning to invite international delegates and foreign journalists to the commemorative events.
The Ministry of Health is responsible for ensuring comprehensive medical support and establishing health care plans for the attending leaders, former leaders, and delegates.
The Ministry of Home Affairs has been tasked with organizing a nationwide patriotic emulation movement and issuing detailed guidance on related commendation and awards activities.
