VietNamNet Bridge – A brand new book by Australian author Pam Scott, recounting about her many experiences living in Ha Noi, has been released by The Gioi (World) Publishers.

Ha Noi Stories reviews Scott's eight wonderful years in Viet Nam's capital between 1994 to 2001 and tells of the people she came to know and love.

The book was printed for three times in Australia and is now published in English for foreign readers in Viet Nam.
After several business trips to Ha Noi in 1993, Scott became enamoured with Viet Nam's intriguing capital.

During her time in the city, she worked in a range of fields including business, academic and aid organisations, becoming involved in the lives of everyday Hanoians – cyclo drivers, shopkeepers, singers, dancers, doctors, noodle sellers, university students, teachers and company directors. She also opened Ha Noi's first English language bookshop, the Bookworm, while keeping herself busy with singing lessons, ballroom dancing, learning her fortune and eating some of the city's more exotic offerings.

"Ha Noi Stories provides an unforgettable insight into the charms of this vibrant city, and why once you go there, it is hard to leave," she said.

The Gioi Publishers has already released three other books by Scott including Viet Nam Revisited (2012), Trailblazers of Fortune: A True Tale of Adventure in French Colonial Viet Nam (2012), and In Search of the Pearl of the Far East: Sai Gon-Ho Chi Minh City (2010).

Tripadvisor.com, a popular website for foreigners, marked Ha Noi Stories as "essential reading before any trip to Viet Nam".

The book is now on sale at VND200,000 (US$10).
