A total 40 large paintings depicting the artist’s perspectives on life, as well as nudity, still life and portraits are painted with watercolour, canvas and ink.
Nguyen Quang Thieu remarked that Nhuong is a free person; he is free in his poetry, as well as in his novels and painting.
“We see the freedom in strokes, colours and content in each painting. It’s necessary in creativity.”
“We don’t just discover the world of Nhuong, but through his paintings, we also discover our own worlds,” said Thieu.
Painter Le Thanh Minh said that Nhuong was working as a poet when they met 30 years ago in Moscow. With the eyes and senses of a professional artist, Minh highly appreciated Nhuong’s paintings.
“Nhuong never wants to paint works for the sake of fame,” said Minh. “He just wants to express the feelings and stories that literature can’t help him speak out.”
