A pilot preparing to land at Noi Bai International Airport spotted an unmanned flying object - later identified as a kite - at an altitude of 300 meters, posing a threat to aviation safety.

According to Noi Bai International Airport authorities, at 5:18 p.m. on April 22, the captain of flight VJ1436 from Quy Nhon to Hanoi was approaching runway 11L/29R at an altitude of around 300 meters when he noticed an unidentified flying object to the right of the aircraft. The object was seen in the airspace over Thanh Xuan commune, Soc Son District, approximately 3.5 km from the airport.

Immediately upon receiving the report, Noi Bai's emergency command center alerted all relevant units.

Police in Thanh Xuan conducted an inspection and discovered a local resident flying a kite. The kite was confiscated, and the individual was taken to the local police station to sign a commitment not to repeat the offense.

Noi Bai International Airport has reiterated that individuals are strictly prohibited from flying kites, balloons, or any unmanned aerial objects within the designated flight safety corridor, which extends 8 km in radius from the airport's reference point.

Flying kites near the airport directly endangers aviation safety and can lead to serious consequences.

Authorities urge local governments and communities near the airport to intensify awareness campaigns and discourage behavior that poses risks to flight operations. Any violations will be dealt with strictly under the law.

Previously, on March 30, a similar incident occurred when a pilot on a flight from Tuy Hoa to Hanoi spotted a kite at an altitude of approximately 150 meters.
