Van Quat Dong is a poor fishing village in Huong Phong commune, Huong Tra district in Thua Thien-Hue province. It is located on Tam Giang lagoon, which is considered the biggest one in Southeast Asia. Van Quat Dong ancient fishing village has existed for hundreds of years and shrimp farming is their main occupation. The local market opens from early morning selling a variety of seafood.
Food lovers should come early to buy fresh seafood and enjoy stunning sunrise as the market often closes at 9. Seafood is also sold directly from the boats.
