On the evening of July 18, the Phu Tho Provincial Police were alerted about a female American tourist exhibiting erratic behavior at a rest stop on the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway. After leaving the rest area, she inexplicably climbed Ho Gian Hill and subsequently fell into a deep pit.

After receiving the distress call, a coordinated rescue effort ensued. More than an hour later, the search team located the tourist at the bottom of a deep pit atop the hill. Despite suffering minor injuries and apparent shock, the tourist was quickly and safely extracted from the pit.

The rescued tourist, who had been in Vietnam since June 7, was immediately provided medical attention at the Km98 rest stop and her health was closely monitored.

Following her rescue, Ha Hoa District Police worked diligently with other relevant agencies to ensure the tourist was reunited with her family, demonstrating a well-executed response and genuine care for the well-being of visitors to the region.
