As of March 6, 2025, 717 employees under the jurisdiction of Decree 177 and Decree 178 have submitted formal requests to leave their positions.
Additionally, another 283 individuals not covered by the decree have expressed their desire to resign, provided that financial support is available.
Among those applying to leave:
596 employees are seeking early retirement, including 195 civil servants, 315 public employees, and 86 workers.
121 employees have applied for voluntary resignation.
Senior officials seeking to leave include one department-level head, six deputy heads, one union president, 65 division heads, and 111 deputy division heads across various units under the ministry.
By March 10, 2025, the ministry had officially approved three early retirement requests under Decree 178/2024.
Minister affirms smooth restructuring process
At a ministerial conference on March 11, 2025, Minister Do Duc Duy emphasized that the ministry had strictly followed central government directives regarding the integration of the two former ministries.
"The merger of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment has been executed smoothly, with no major disruptions arising from the transition," Minister Duy stated.
Moving forward, the ministry will continue to reorganize and consolidate its structure to ensure operational stability. This includes:
Rearranging affiliated institutions and administrative units
Optimizing internal department structures
After the merger, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment now comprises 30 organizational units, including 26 administrative agencies responsible for state management and 80 affiliated agencies and institutions.
The ministry remains committed to ensuring that public services and regulatory functions continue without disruption as it completes the restructuring process.
