Major General Tran Van Ve, Deputy Director General of the Police Administration of Social Order and Safety of the Ministry of Public Security, said on October 15 that at this moment, the consideration of the use of non-sound fireworks, made by Z121, in Vietnam has been halted.

After the horrifying fireworks warehouse explosion at Z121 Factory 4--in the locality and two Lao Khai Vo Xuan Commune, Thanh Ba district ( Phu Tho Province ), in which at least 24 people were killed and dozens others injured, there were comments of more reasons to be afraid of fire safety in the production and preservation of fireworks , and fireworks entertainment arts .

Earlier, the Ministry of Public Security had been requested by the Government Office to consider the proposal of the Ministry of Defense on allowing Z121 Factory to manufacture and sell widely entertainment pyrotechnic fireworks to the market.

The Government Office asked the Ministry of Public Security to review the provisions of existing laws as well as the characteristics and level of safety of this product.

Z121 officials said the factory is manufacturing over 40 types of fireworks, using technology transferred from Japan and the US. The Z121 Factory intended to ask for permission for widely selling around 10 products.

Not long ago, these products were certified by the Explosive Institute of the General Department of Industry for meeting safety standards and fire risks by Vietnam standards (ISO 1995).

Officials of Z121 Factory said that once the Ministry of Public Security amends and supplements Circular 08/2010 on the management and use of firecrackers and fireworks, its non-sound firework products can be available on the market.
