VietNamNet Bridge – At the end of July, there were 65 high-rise apartment buildings that failed to observe fire safety regulations regarding their construction, according to the city’s Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting.

Of the total, 64 buildings had not passed fire safety tests but were already operational, while one building was under construction but had not passed a fire safety assessment relating to its design.

The follow-up findings came two months after a police report at the end of May stating that there were 79 high-rise apartment buildings out of 8,000 inspected found to be lacking in fire safety compliance. The results mean that in two months, only 13 building owners have addressed the issues, while one building (Tower N02-T3 at the Diplomatic Residence Area in North Tu Liem District) has had to suspend operations until fire safety concerns are fully dealt with.

Also according to the report in May, Ha Dong District continues to have the highest number of fire safety violations, with 20 buildings falling short, followed by South Tu Liem District in second with seven buildings and North Tu Liem District with six.
