Hanoi will hold a street festival which is expected to attract around 5,000 participants to mark the 10th anniversary of Hanoi’s expansion.

The event, which will take place around Hoan Kiem Lake on July 29, is aimed to feature traditional cultural identities of different areas in Hanoi as well as promote the capital city’s tourism products.

The festival will include performances of folk arts such as lion dance and conical hat dance along with traditional long dress performance and carnivals.

The expansion of the capital included Ha Tay Province and part of Vinh Phuc and Hoa Binh provinces and was carried out in 2008.
