The assets of the five richest women on the stock market alone account for 60 percent of total assets of the members on the list of 50 richest women.

The 50 businesswomen had shares worth VND20.17 trillion by December 31, 2015. The oldest one in the list was 77 years old, while the youngest was 25 years old.

The first three positions in the 2015 list are the same as last year’s. Holding the shares of the largest Vietnamese real estate group worth VND4.195 trillion, Pham Thu Huong, deputy chair of Vingroup has, for the sixth time, topped the list.

Huong is the only businesswoman listed among the top 3 stock millionaires.

The second position also belongs to a member of Pham family – Pham Thuy Hang, deputy chair of Vingroup, with stock assets of VND2.8 trillion.

Nguyen Hoang Yen, member of Masan’s Board of Directors, has been put on the third position. She is the wife of Nguyen Dang Quang, chair of the group.

Yen has seen her assets decrease by VND140 billion because the Masan share price has decreased by 7 percent in the last year.

The 50 businesswomen had shares worth VND20.17 trillion by December 31, 2015. The oldest one in the list was 77 years old, while the youngest was 25 years old.

The other two in the top five have also seen their assets decrease. They are Vu Thi Hien, the wife of Hoa Phat Group, and Truong Thi Le Khanh, chair and CEO of Vinh Hoan Seafood Company.

However, the total assets of the five richest women are still big enough (VND11.92 trillion) to account for 60 percent of the total assets held by top 50.

The 2015 list of richest businesswomen recognize familiar names who have been working hard, including president and CEO of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai Group Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan, chair and CEO of the Phu Nhuan Gold, Silver & Gemstone Company Cao Thi Ngoc Dung, chair and CEO of the Refrigeration Engineering Enterprise Nguyen Thi Mai Thanh, and CEO of Vinamilk Mai Kieu Lien.

Meanwhile, 2015 was a year of full hardships for Dang family’s members in general and Dang Thi Hoang Yen, chair of the Tan Tao Investment and Industry JSC, in particular.

Though industrial zone developers are believed to receive benefits from the Trans Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP), Tan Tao’s share price still dropped by 27 percent in 2015 to VND5,600 per share. This caused Yen’s assets to decrease by VND30 billion, and such she was excluded from the top 10.

The list of 50 richest women includes many new young faces, including Nguyen Ngoc Huyen My, the daughter of Nguyen Thi Nhu Loan, chair of Quoc Cuong Gia Lai. With stock assets of VND200 billion, the daughter of the real estate giant ranks 21st on the list.
