VietNamNet Bridge – Yesterday coach Hoang Anh Tuan finalised 24 players for the U21 Viet Nam national men’s football squad to take part in the four-team Nations Cup in Malaysia on June 3-5.

The core of the list are footballers who played at the 2015 AFF U19 Championship and in the qualifying round of the 2016 AFC U19 Championship.

“The event will be a good chance for the Viet Nam team to hone its skills to prepare for the upcoming AFF U19 tournament and the final round of the AFC event,” said Tuan.

As planned, Viet Nam will play Thailand, while Malaysia will face Singapore at Malacca’s Hang Jebat Stadium. The two winning teams will meet in the final match. The two losing teams will compete for the bronze medal at Hang Jebat Stadium.

The tournament will also serve as a good gauge of where teams stand in the lead-up to the Southeast Asian Games in 2017.
