VietNamNet Bridge – A lingzhi mushroom (1.7m long, 1.2m wide, 60 cm high), owned by Dao Duc Dai, 27, from the Central Highlands province of Dak Lak has attracted hundreds of curious people in the past couple of days. Some people offered to buy it for VND1 billion ($50,000).
The giant lingzhi mushroom.
Dai said he bought the giant lingzhi mushroom from a farmer in the district of Ea Kar, Dak Lak province, for VND200 million (over $9,000).
As the mushroom was deep in the forest and it clung firmly to a big banyan tree, Dai had to hire a truck and eight young men to carry the mushroom home. It took them more than three hours to separate the mushroom from the tree, Dai said.
Dai displays the giant mushroom on the grounds of a company near his home.
Every day hundreds of people flock to the site to take pictures of the strange mushroom.
