The One Global Vietnam Summit was organized last week by the the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts (AVSE Global) in Paris (France).
With the slogan "Talent. Innovation. Sustainability", the event aimed to connect and motivate talents to come together to find specific solutions for Vietnam in the context of technological breakthroughs and climate change, and to reshape Vietnam in the future, especially after two years affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Above all, the summit focused to build a sustainable developed, a globally connected, borderless Vietnam.
The summit was attended by more than 30 speakers and 100 experts from 15 countries, including Dr. Philipp Rosler - Former Deputy Chancellor of Germany, Bertrand Badré - former CEO of the World Bank, Frederik Kristensen - Deputy CEO, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations - CEPI, Cecilia Tam - OECD's Clean Energy Finance and Investment Mobilization (CEFIM) Programme and Dr. Quy Vo-Reinhard - Co-Founder & Director of dHealth Foundation; Head of R&D and Member of Board of Director of Centiva Health AG, Switzerland and Co-CEO of V-Space, the Vietnam leading trusted network for matching Talents in Innovation.
At the conference, experts and speakers discussed the question "Where will the world go to in the next 50-60 years. What will the future of Vietnam?”
Speaking at the conference, Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Manh Hung said: "Developing countries have many challenges and problems, so the need for innovation is very high. For more than 30 years, Vietnam has been in the top 10 countries with the highest GDP growth rate. Therefore, it can be said that Vietnam is the cradle of innovation with enough resources and talents, an open door that needs to be exploited and invested to bring solutions to the international market, to contribute to the common development of mankind.”
The conference consisted of four on-site and online sessions. The first session discussed future connections: Besides technology, the world needs to approach social and community solutions to issues such as Industrial Revolution 4.0, climate change, and especially in the field of medicine as it relates to the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic and the World Health Organization's (WHO) forecasts of other diseases.
The second is connections of partners: before the volatility of technology, climate change and unforeseen difficulties, Vietnam needs to have specific scenarios, and take advantage of human resources, effectively applying available resources.
The third is connections in innovation: Vietnam can create creative ecosystems with its own resources such as geographic location, green energy, and AI technology to solve challenges and move towards sustainable development.
The fourth is connections among talent: Faced with the challenges of finding solutions to promote and motivate Vietnam’s talent, one of the most important strategies is to inspire and foster education, and apply technology to create opportunities for Vietnamese talents.
Through the four discussion sessions, speakers pointed out the decisive factors in innovation that will shape the world in the coming time.
