The parade celebrating the 70th National Day of Vietnam at Ba Dinh
Square (Hanoi) is one of the most outstanding events in 2015. The event
had the participation of 30,000 people, starting at 7am.
Another
major event of the year is the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the
South Vietnam and the country’s reunification. On the night of April
30th, fireworks display took place at HCM City’s Bitexco, the tallest
building in the city. The spectacular performance satisfied the eyes of
tens of thousands of people.
More than 380 old trees along Nguyen
Chi Thanh Street in Hanoi were chopped down within one month to be
replaced with new trees. This issue stirred up the public for a long
time.

Nguyen Ba Thanh passed away on February 13th. That night people flocked
to Thanh’s house on Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, in Khue Trung Ward, Cam
Le District in the central city of Da Nang. In the photo is Mrs. Nguyen
Thi Dung, 60, from Chau Thuong Van Street, Hai Chau District, who burst
into tears when she arrived at Thanh’s home at 11pm.
On the
occasion of the 40th anniversary of the liberation of the South Vietnam
and the country’s reunification, HCMC City inaugurated and opened to the
public the new walking street (Nguyen Hue Road) on April 29th.
The
East-West Highway, Nga Ba Cat Lai, Ring Road 2 and Station 2 Flyover
are modern interchanges that changed the face of HCM City after 40 years
of liberation.
The historic floods in Quang Ninh province in late
July 2015 caused huge losses and damages to local people. Hundreds of
tons of coal were swept away to rivers. Hundreds of people dove to pick
up coal for sale.
The Hanoi - Haiphong Highway of more than 105 km opened to traffic on December 5. This is the most modern highway in Vietnam.
The
terminal of Tan Son Nhat airport in HCM City leaked during the
downpours on the night of October 22. The roads around the airport were
deeply submerged.
On April 19, the Ho Tay Water Park (Hanoi)
opened for free from 8am to 10am. Knowing the information, young people
and families flocked to the park, causing serious overload. The park can
serve several thousands of people but that day tens of thousands of
people came. Only one hour after the opening, the park had to close.
