In 2002, high school student Mai Phuong passed thousands of contestants to become Miss Vietnam. The same year, she represented Vietnam at the Miss World pageant. Entering the top 20 candidates, Mai Phuong surprised the Vietnamese people and marked a successful return of Vietnam in the international arena.

In 2004, shortly after becoming Miss Vietnam, Nguyen Thi Huyen competed at the Miss World 2004. Many fans could not forget the happy and proud moments when Vietnam was named in the top 15 contestants.

Two years later, Miss Vietnam Mai Phuong Thuy ranked 17th at the Miss World pageant.

In 2009, Huong Giang ranked 16th at Miss World.

After five years, Vietnam’s Nguyen Thi Loan was named in the top 25 of Miss World 2014.

In 2008, Vietnam hosted the Miss Universe contest for the first time. Vietnamese representative Thuy Lam entered the top 15.

As the first Vietnamese contestant at the Miss International after 1975, Truong Quynh Mai was named in the top 15. She also won the Best Traditional Costume prize.

In 2011, Truc Diem represented Vietnam at Miss International and also entered the top 15. Last year, she was honored as one of the 100 most beautiful faces in the world by a prestigious website.

Miss Vietnam World 2010 Diem Huong ranked 14th at Miss Earth 2010.

Thu May ranked fourth at Miss Supranational 2011.
